Phlebotomy

Phlebotomy Training

Specimen collection technique, patient safety, and the professionalism that makes a phlebotomist trusted by patients and lab teams alike.

Overview

Phlebotomy is often a patient's first hands-on encounter in a healthcare setting. Our training treats it that way — technical skill paired with the calm, respectful presence that puts people at ease.

Participants practice venipuncture and capillary collection, learn order of draw and specimen integrity, and study the safety standards that protect both patient and collector.

Instruction is hands-on and small-group by design, so every participant gets coaching rather than observation time.

Collection technique

Equipment selection, site preparation, and consistent, low-trauma venipuncture.

Specimen handling

Order of draw, tube additives, labeling, transport, and avoiding pre-analytical errors.

Safety standards

Standard precautions, sharps disposal, and exposure response procedures.

Patient experience

Identification, consent, comfort measures, and managing anxious or difficult draws.
